LFX HONOURS LISTING SPONSORS WITH SPECIAL AWARD.

Labuan, Friday, 23 September 2005 – The Labuan International Financial Exchange (LFX) awarded its Listing Sponsors which have significantly contributed towards the development of the Exchange for year 2005. The recipients are AmInternational (L) Limited (AMIL) and CIMB (L) Limited (CIMB). Datuk Zamani Abdul Ghani, Deputy Governor Bank Negara Malaysia, presented the awards at the Labuan Offshore Industry Annual Dinner in Labuan International Offshore Financial Centre (IOFC).

“Its important that we give recognition to deserving market participants that have contributed towards the development of the LFX. With 32 instruments listed on LFX today, market capitalisation has grown to USD12.09 billion (market cap as at Thursday,22nd), said Chairman of LFX Board Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia Berhad.

“We hope all other Listing Sponsors will enhance their participation on their exchange and aggressively promote the issuance of more Islamic and conventional investment instruments on the offshore exchange. There are many benefits that an issuer can enjoy at the IOFC.”

A Listing Sponsor is primarily responsible in arranging for the listing of instruments on the LFX and any subsequent post listing obligations. The LFX Outstanding Listing Sponsors award is expected to be an annual affair in conjunction with the Labuan Offshore Industry Annual Dinner.

About the award recepients:

AmInternational (Labuan) Limited (AMIL) was established in 1995 (then known as AMMB International (L) Ltd) in Labuan IOFC and was granted Listing Sponsor licence by LFX in 2001. The outstanding performance of AMIL is evidenced by the number of instruments listed on the LFX since its establishment as a Listing Sponsor.  As at August 2005, AMIL has listed 12 instruments on the exchange.  Its progress recorded an increasing growth over the years.  Among the notable instruments listed are Sukuk Al-Ijarah Trust Certificates by Malaysia Global Sukuk Incorporated, Federation of Malaysia Notes, TM Global Incorporated Guaranteed Notes, IOI Ventures (Labuan) Berhad and Sarawak International Incorporated Guaranteed Notes.  AMIL also is working on a number of listings in the pipeline.

CIMB (L) Ltd was established in 2001 in Labuan IOFC and was granted Listing Sponsor license by LFX in 2002.  As at August 2005, CIMB has listed 9 instruments on the exchange.  Among the instrument are Sukuk Trust Certificates by Qatar Global Sukuk QSC, Guaranteed Notes due 2009 and 2014 by MISC Capital (L) Limited, Guaranteed Exchangeable Notes by Feringghi Capital Ltd (Khazanah Nasional), and Fixed Rate Guaranteed Notes Due 2015 by TNB Capital (L) Ltd.  CIMB is also working on few instruments to be listed on the LFX.
